Finally, the last blog.

I started with this experience the last semester, in english III. In that moment I found that write blogs was very innovative, and I felt very excited about write a new entrance every week, but now, I have lost all that exciment :/

I use differents modes to improve my english. Seeing movies or series in english, seeing videos in youtube with people who talk in native english, listen music in english, etc.

Here, in the University, the classes of english didn't help me in a high level, but I think that is a problem with the curriculum, not with the teachers, so I think that this situation needs to be change.

Going back to the blogs, I feel that this method is usefull in the way to know our classmates and the teacher, but that is all.

I have never recieve a critict, so I don't know if I did this well or not, and the themes for the blogs, in my opinion, were boring, except that one where we talk about our pets, that one was my favourite, haha.

I know that the blogs about our career are ''obligatory'', but I think that is not accurate talk about the jobs I want or the Postgrades I want to do, BECAUSE THIS IS MY FIRST YEAAAAAAAAR.

SO I'M NOT SURE IF I'M GOING TO STAY HERE OR NOT :-(

I repeated that phrase so many times that I lost the count, and maybe that is the reason about I lost the exciment for write blogs.

To me, learn english is important in the times that we live now, and is one of my goals to perfectionate my english and learn other lenguages, but sadly, I think that the english I had here in the university was not significative. (sorry, not sorry)

Summer Holidays

 This holidays  I would like to visit the South again like the past two summers, when I went to Valdivia in 2016, and to Lican Ray this year , because I don´t like the beach, maybe is because the most part of my life I visited differents beaches like: Punta de Tralca, El Quisco, El Canelo, so now I prefer the lakes or the rivers the South have.

Other reason is I don’t like the extreme hotness, so in the south (specially in summer) the sun generates a perfect weather, not so hot, and not so cold. Is perfect!

My favorite part about make a trip is sleep all the way and wake up surrounded with beautiful views and delicious food :P
If I can choose persons to go with me, i would like to invite my Friends, my family and my pets :) 
With all this persons I think I would enjoy my vacations.

 The plan goes like this: I´m going to rent a big house, near to the lake and near to a supermarket, also, this house will be near to a touristic area, so all the persons in the house will spend the night in a club, or a restaurant, so we would have a great meal or maybe we would dance.
That for me, woul be a perfect summer.

In case that I can´t realice this utopic panorama, I think that I would spend my vacations seeing videos on YouTube, hanging out with my Friends, playing with my cousins, discovering new series, music and movies, visting restaurants with my parents and my brother, loving a fan or all the ventilators in my house, peting my pets and (maybe, is almost a fantasy) making exercise, like riding a bike, run or using my rollerblades.

MY PETS

The blog of today maybe is going to be one of my favorites; because I LOVE MY PETSSSSSSSSS

I have two dogs and one cat. 

Lilila and Balu are the names of my dogs, and Leia is the name of my cat.

I always have been a ‘’Dog’’ person, but like, two years ago, my brother came home with a little cat that was called ‘’Kylo Ren’’ but, with a quick visit to the veterinary, he discovered that Kylo was a female kitty, so he decided to change her name to Leia.
Leia is a black cat who loves chasing insects, eat, sleep, and bite the hands of all the members of my family.
She is always angry, but I pet her every time I can, even if she injure my hands. 
Thanks to Leia I change my vision of cats. Now I feel more ‘’symphaty’’ for them, but I always says that the only cat I like the most is MY CAT.

Now I´m going to talk about my dogs.
To be honest, Balu is a dog that is super weird, he doesn’t know how to ‘’demonstrate’’ love and he always is in the streets eating garbage or something gross. So I don’t like him so much :/ 

Instead, I´m going to write about Lilila.
Lilila is a female dog that I adopted 5 years ago. It was love at first glance.
Lilila used to have a blue eye and a brown eye, but when she was just a puppy, she got very sick, so she lost her vision and one of her eyes (the blue one).

Now Lilila sleeps all day and she loves eat. Her audition is so good that she listen that you are eating from miles away (is true) 
I say that Lilila is like my child, when she got sick, I invested so much time taking her to the vet and thanks to that, Lilila is live today.
Nobody understand the way I love Lilila, and I feel sad when somebody says she is ugly or she is scary 
THAT HURTS ME :(

Postgraduate studies

The theme of today is pretty boring :/

I think that write about studies doesn’t tell how a person is, and one of the objectives i have for want to read a blog, is know the person behind the entrance, but, I have nothing to do against that, so, let's do this

Now, I´m studying chemistry and pharmacy, and the area that attract my attention is pharmacology, even if in this first year of studies we don’t see this theme so ‘’deeply’’, so I’m only make this decision based on information in the internet or the things that the teachers talk in their classes.

The PhD of pharmacology is imparted by the University of Chile and basically is about investigation and innovation.

But, I’m not sure 100% if I want this in my future, because, sometimes I have a ‘’vocational crisis’’ and I don’t know if I’m going to stay in this career. (the most possible is i'm going to stay)

When the people ask you: ‘’What you want to be when you grow up?’’ I only think that I want to know diverse things about everything. In that case I would take degrees or classes of history, different languages, religion, music, etc.

I do not want to reduce my knowledge just to one area, maybe it's sounds difficult, and maybe I never going to do this in a few years, but it's one of my goals, and I hope that I be capable of achieve this.

My favorite musician

The theme of today is talk about my favorite musician.
Well, I hear a lot of music, and that means that I hear a variety of musicians, so, to me is a little difficult to choose a single one, but, there is a band called Bastille that I always listen, no matter what, so I’m going to talk about them.

Bastille is a British indie band formed in 2010, their lyrics talk about… Well I don´t know to be honest. There are songs that talk about love and lack of love, about relationships in general.
There also are lyrics that I don’t understand, but I enjoy listening, haha.

The songs contains keyboards, guitar, bass, synthesizers and, obviously a lead voice.

I started to listen this band in the 2013. I saw the video clip of the song ‘’Pompeii’’ and immediately fell in love :P

I like this band because: 

-I like the indie ‘’wave’’, maybe is one of my favorite genres.
-The lead singer sings incredibly awesome and he is incredibly handsome, haha.

-Regularly they make live presentations with an orchestra, so the songs are beautiful! 
-There are a couple of songs that mean a lot to me. When I hear them, they take me to specific situations that happened in the past, is super weird :S

The best holidays ever

 Today I’m going to write about my favorite holiday.

It was in February of this year. With my aunt, her couple, my two cousins, my mom and my brother went to ‘’Lican Ray’’ in the south.

We were there for a couple of days when, in that time my boyfriend (now my friend, haha)  came to the house and  finally stayed there until we had to come back to Santiago.

 One of my favorite things were the lakes, the food and the landscapes  :P

The landscapes of the south are incredible, and combined with traditional delicious food make a great combination. The house where we stayed was huuuge, and the environment was wonderful. I could watch the lake from the window of my bedroom!

Other of my favorite things was played and spend time with my cousins <3

I love them so much, and this experience made me love them even more, especially a Alonso, he's one year old and it was amazing the way he enjoyed the lakes and the hot springs we visited.

The time flies when we you are on vacations and this case weren’t the opposite.

I didn’t notice the day we had to come back to the city and the routine, but I appreciate so much that that holidays were happened. I keep those memories like one of the best I’ve ever had.

A COUNTRY I WOULD LIKE TO VISIT

It’s a new semester, so, it’s time to upload a new entrance in this blog.
The topic today is writing about a country I would like to visit.

To be honest, one of my dreams is travel around the world to know different cultures, especially the European and Asian ones, but I’m more excited to visit Germany.
I think that this country have a developed culture, an interesting history and beautiful landscapes.

One of the criteria that I have to considerer when i want to travel to a country is that this country needs to have big relevance in the world history (especially with the wars, you know 😎)  so, Germany is the perfect candidate, haha.
Other reason is that Germany have big exponent in every area you can imagine.  Musicians, painters, movie directors, scientists,  writers, etc. But, after all, I have one problem and is the language(and the money, of course). I pretend to take classes one day and learn basic things to survive a month or something like that, because I don’t want to go for a week 😐 . That would be boring if I want to know new places and new information about this magnificent country.

My blog experience

Well, to start I would like to say that i was very curious about how was going to be the english classes in the university, because all my life the classes were the same thing:

Verb ''to be'' 
Verbs with -ING
Verbs with -ED


ALWAYS THE SAME!

This semester, when the teacher told us that every week we had to write a blog, I felt a little better.
I never had a twist in the method for an english class, so this intrigued me and  motivated me so much.
To be honest, I found it's very funny to write a blog.
 I always see pages on facebook about people who write their own stories and have thousands of followers, and to me is very easy to write and express things about me. Of course this time comparing the blog with the facebook pages,  I don't have real followers, but I know there are classmates, and obviously the teacher, who read my entrances (even if you are obligated, sorry -n-), but I have to do the same thing for them, so for me, knowing my partners trough their own blogs was dynamic.
 In conclusion:  I didn't see this like a TOTAL obligation. Write the blog helped me to improve my redaction, my vocabulary and also, I can say that I ''met'' my classmates in a particular way, haha .

 IT'S A WIN-WIN!

In the future I would like to write (and read) entrances about the pets that we have, or a funny story that we lived.

A Subject you enjoy studying this semester

Hello everyone, the topic of today is talk about my favorite subject in this term.

To be honest, I don’t know if I have a FAVORITE subject, because all the things we see in class have good things and bad things, so, to completely feel attract by one subject, is difficult, but if I have to choose one I´m going to opt for ‘’The pharmacist and its action ’’

In this subject we see the functions and the labors a pharmacist can and can´t do, so the activities are very diverse.

*The first thing I made in this subject was go to a Hospital and a Laboratory.

In both trips a professional talks to all the group and we had to take notes that we had to use later to do a little report.

*The second thing to do was made a debate about contingent issues in the pharmaceutical area.

This was fun because, for example, a group had to be in favor about a topic, and many of the persons of that group thought the opposite!

*The third thing was listen experts of different areas talk about the labor they do like a pharmacist.

This helped me to expand my mind, because I didn’t know that with this profession you are able to do different things in diverse fields.

*And (finally) the last thing I’m doing is go to classes where we talk and learn the terminology used by the pharmacist in the pharmaceutical ‘’world’’.

This classes are being one of the most I like, because we discuss the terms to be more objective, and the teachers are super intelligent, so they always resolve the doubts we have.

This is pretty much what we have to do in ‘’The pharmacist and its action’’, and I hope you share a similar vision about this subject.

Carl Wilhelm Scheele

Chemistry is important in our life and because of that, this science have a long story.

One of the persons who contributed a lot in the history of the chemistry was Carl Wilhelm Scheele.

Carl was born in Stralsund,Swedish Pomeranian  the year 1742.

He realized some works in the pharmaceutic area, but his most well known discoveries are the Oxygen,  chlorine, nitrogen and some others famous chemist elements. He created a Pharmacy in Pomeranian that had been very famous in his times.

The experiments that Carl realized were related with the discovery of many vegetal,animal and mineral acids, and also investigated some poison gases to found the way to avoid the dead for the effects of this gases.

This man had had very bad luck, because many of his discoveries were attributed to other persons related to chemistry, but now,  the persons who are more interested and related to study the history of the chemistry, know that Carl is one of the more important scientist in the chemistry area.

The life of Carl ended in the year 1786, just with 43 years old. The history says that one of the reasons why Carl Died too soon, is because this man had the habit to taste every element or chemical compound he discovered, so his dead is related with intoxication; probably with mercury.

He got the recognition he deserved in the year 1775 as a member of the real academy of the science in Switzerland.

For finish this entry, I like to say that Carl Wilhelm Scheele needs to be more popular in the science world, his discoveries had a important impact in the society, even in the presents days we use and experiment with all the elements and compounds that Carl had found out, so to me, is very important that every person in the chemistry area know the legacy of this man; Carl Wilhelm Scheele.

My favourite serie

 If I have to choose my favourite serie, my options are two

Breaking Bad or the Simpson. But in this case I'm going to choose the Simpson.

This animated serie was released in the finals of the 80's in Fox channel.

The plot of this serie is show the life of the Simpson, an american family who lives in Sprigfield city.

The simpson are a family conformed by the childrens: Bart, Lisa and Maggie

And the parents: Homer and Marge

In the present year, this serie have 28 seasons, but in my opinion, the good ones was the 1 to the 12 (this is an aproximation)

That seasons was the best of the best.

The jokes and the situaciones that involved the family were funny in so many levels, but sadly, the last seasons are awfull :/

Everything is too annoying so the serie lost their "touch"

I enjoy watching the old episodes, I can see the same episode thousand times, but I still laugh like the first time i saw it, so, I developed the ability to use phrases of the serie in my daily life XD 

My fanatism to the serie is almost an obsession. 

I follow so many pages dedicated to the serie in my social accounts, and I believe that if

a person understand you when you use some phrase of the Simpson you can considered that person a good person ;)

The music I listen

Everybody in this world hear music, and I'm not the exception.
When I was little (6 years old) I assisted to the choir group in my school, but I  ended that when I turned 10 years old. Five years later I signed up for violin lessons, but I was very bad in that :(
The point with all these stories is I really like music, but I'm not good when I'm involved in it.
Now is time to present you the music I love and enjoy.

I listen pretty much everything, my taste is very random, but if I can choose genres, I have to say one of my favorites are pop and Indie.

My FAVOURITE band is called Bastille. This band is into the indie ''wave'' and I really love them.
I don't have a particular favourite song, but in this moment I listen all the time one song that is called ''Fake It''
The bands or singers I listen almost always are in english, the times that I listen music in Spanish is when I go to a party, or when I listen music with my mom.
My guilty pleasure sometimes is ''Reggaeton'', but is because when I´m listen this genre my body wants to dance, and I'm remember all the parties with my friends :(  (Yep, I'm Honest)

YouTube, an adicction

This entry it will be about something I mentioned in the first publication I made.
In one of the points of my list where I talk about my interests, I said that one of my favorite things is spend time in social networks, especially YouTube.  So, YouTube is the subject of today.

I really enjoy watch videos, but I don’t know if I can call this a hobby.
The videos I watch go from stories about ghosts, persons who commented videos of another Youtubers, cooking, clothing ‘’hauls’’, tops, video clips, and for not demonstrate me like a ignorant person, I also watch videos of the things we learn in class (they help me so much. Thanks to this videos I save almost every mark)

In this last month one YouTuber really caught my attention.

Ethan Klein or ‘’H3h3’’ in YouTube is a man who make comments about super weird videos in the internet.
He makes every weird video extra funny, and I laugh so much because he have a special form to narrate the videos and his facial’s expressions are insane!

Why did I choose this career/study programme?

When I was little, one of my favorites things were animals, so my dream in those years were related to be a veterinarian or something like that, but then I grow up and that dream changed.

At the age of 13 my mind went into confusion because I overthink too much the reason of choose an option of career to study in the university.

One day I woke up thinking about being a doctor, and the night of that same day I went to the bed thinking about being a lawyer, but the only thing I was sure I would never be, was a person related to study chemistry. I hated chemistry so much in that time L

The years passed through and finally my mind became clear. My list of careers passed from 100 to only 2 options: Odontology and Chemistry and Pharmacy (the last two years of school I noticed that chemistry was very interesting and super important for the life, so the hate I felt before disappeared. And also I started to watch Breaking Bad. That was other factor that affect in my change)

So, why did I choose (finally) the career Chemistry and Pharmacy?

I looked up for information everywhere, and everything about the career was of my taste, especially the jobs you can obtain and the projects you can create to help people.

I considered that this career is the career of the future. Every day the ills, the virus and the bacteria become more powerful and resistant to the medication, so it is necessary to create or develop new drugs to fight this inconvenient, and I feel that I can do that and the most important, I can enjoy it. That´s the reason why I chose to study Chemistry and Pharmacy.

Hi, maybe you are here because you are obligated to create a blog for the English class, if this is the reason, keep reading.

My name is Fernanda Vicencio, but everyone (except my family) call me Feña.  I´m 18 years old and I was born (and still living) in Santiago, Chile.

I´m a student of Chemistry and pharmacy and a proud mother of a dog.
I like to spend my time doing things like:

*Read:  My favorite book is The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time and the Little Prince
*Sleep: 8 hours are never enough 😠

*Eat: My favorite thing in the food world are hamburgers and vanilla ice cream. And the thing I hate most in this wonderful world is seafood 👾

*Social networks: I spend precious time watching videos in youtube, liking photos in Instagram and doing absurd test in Facebook.

*Dogs and cats: I have a dog called Lilila and a cat called Leia. I love to pet them, but they don´t like being petted (sad story😢) one of my goals in life is have 14 dogs in a big house, jeje

*Family: Diego is the name of my eldest brother. He´s like a good friend because we share similar tastes. Also I have two little cousins, Agustina and Alonso, and they bring joy to my life. Sometimes I take care of them<3

*List: Yes, I like to do lists to clean my head.
